The Sierra Leone Football Association, first wrote to the Ghanian Football Association, to allow them to play the match in Ghana, which has been scheduled for September 10. Then the GFA replied, that since it was because of health issue, as a result of the out-break of the Ebola virus, SLFA should make the request through their government to the Ghana government, which will then make the decision on what to do. Sierra Leone did so, and it was rejected by the Ghana government, through their Foreign Affairs minister, Hannah Tetteh. The SLFA Secretary General, Christopher Kamara, said that they are still waiting for the final word from Ghana, but added that if Ghana totally refuse, they will approach Gambia and Morocco. He said that pulling out of the competition is not an option.
