CAF BANS ALGERIAN CLUB FOR PLAYER'S DEATH

The Confederation of African Football (CAF), the  body that governs football in Africa, has handed a two year ban to the Algerian football club - J S Kabylie over the stoning to death of their player, Albert Ebosse.

The Cameroon striker died after he was hit at the head by a stone from the fans who threw missiles at their players as they were coming out of the pitch after losing their home game 2 - 1 to Algier USM in the Algerian football league.

Ebosse, who scored the only goal of his club in the match, died of the head injury, last month.

CAF took the decision to ban the club from African competitions, in their recent meeting in Ethiopia.

The Algerian Football Federation, had already banned the club, from playing their home matches in their stadium and their fans are not allowed to attend any games (home and away), during the 2014/15 season until February next year.

In addition, CAF announced that they are setting up an annual fair-play award to be named after the unfortunate player - Ebosse.

The statement from CAF Executive Committee, read that the honour will be ''awarded every year to a member association, based on a fair-play rating adopted by ExCo, and to be applied in all CAF competitions, for clubs and national teams of each member associations.''

In my previous article after the death of the footballer, I mentioned that the Algerian Football Federation announced a $100,000 reward for Ebosse family in Cameroon.

All his team-mates of JS Kabylie will donate each, one month salary to the family.

As I mentioned previously all the money and rewards are not enough for his life, but it will go along way to help his family, and alievate their grief and suffering. May he rest in peace, in Jesus name amen. Read also:melvinsports.blogspot.com.
