THE 2014 NOMINEES OF THE AFRICAN FOOTBALLERS OF THE YEAR

The Confederation of African Football (CAF), the body governing football in Africa has just released the names of 25 players, as the nominees for the 2014 African footballer of the year.

The award is divided into two categories - the first is only for Africans plying their trade outside Africa, while the second category is for players playing their club football in the continent.

Among the nominees of the foreign based players is Yaya Toure of Manchester City and Ivory Coast, who has won the last three of the award and is among the favourites to win the honour again.

Without much ado, the following names are the full list of the foreign based players, listed alphabetically.
